Threats for Birds

Birds play fundamental ecological roles in ecosystems, including pollination, seed dispersal and population control of insects and micromammals. However, growing anthropogenic pressure has put several species at risk of extinction. Power line structures represent an interaction opportunity for birdlife, through their use as a roost, strategic hunting spot, nesting site, etc. However, they also pose a considerable risk to avifauna, and this cause of mortality is a significant threat to several bird species worldwide.
