The LIFE PowerLines4birds project aims to reduce the impact of power lines on several bird species (Egyptian vulture, Iberian imperial eagle, Black vulture, Great bustard, Little bustard, Montagu's harrier and European rollers) that are vulnerable to this threat or endangered in Portugal and Spain. In order to disseminate the importance of the work carried out for the conservation of the seven target species and the mitigation of the threat posed by power lines, a video is being produced by Lenga Lenga Filmes.

With filming in full swing, the team is documenting exclusive interviews with project partners committed to the conservation of the target species through various actions such as the correction and monitoring of power lines, the placement of nesting boxes for rollers on supports protected against electrocution, and also training sessions and citizen science involvement through mobile applications developed in Portugal and Spain.

The images collected promise to reveal details about the strategies and technologies implemented to minimize the impact of power lines on birdlife, sparking the interest of everyone who cares about the environment. The involvement of the team members, their motivations, and the discoveries being made will be shared soon, so stay tuned for the latest news—filming is still underway, but we will share the final result soon.

The partners in this project are the League for the Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (LPN), Sociedade Portuguesa para o Estudo das Aves (SPEA), QUERCUS - Associação Nacional de Conservação da Natureza, Sociedad Española de Ornitología (SEO/Birdlife) and E-Redes.
