SPEA team members

Julieta Costa

Julieta Costa

Bachelor degree in Biology by FCUL and a master in the Science of Coastal Areas by Aveiro University.

 At SPEA, Julieta has been responsible for power lines and birds projects, illegal slaughter of birds, renewable energies, Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus) conservation, among others.

Terrestrial conservation coordinator and responsible for the LIFE PowerLines4Birds  project at SPEA.

Joana Domingues

Joana Domingues

Degree in Business Communication with a Postgraduate degree in Touristic Products Planning, Joana is currently a communication and marketing senior technician at SPEA.

 In this role, Joana coordinates the Communication Department team and manages Pardela journal, a reference journal in the sector. Among her main responsibilities, Joana creates communication strategies for projects and campaigns, manages the relationship with media and editorial supervision of the journal, guaranteeing that all the stages of the publication process are strictly enforced.

Responsible for the communication of the LIFE PowerLines4Birds project at SPEA.

Vanessa Oliveira

Vanessa Oliveira

Responsible for the administrative and financial component in the LIFE Powerlines4Birds project.

Has also been developing at SPEA functions of environmental education and organization of events.

Célia Rosa

Célia Rosa

Administrative and financial functions in LIFE PowerLines4Birds project.

At SPEA since 2023, Célia has been administrative and financial assistance in LIFE programs, notably PowerLines4Birds, and secretariat of the Board.

Maria Alho

Maria Alho

Degree in Biology from the University of Lisbon, Master degree in Conservation Biology and PhD in Behavioral Biology.

She has collaborated on research projects in Portugal (e.g. OceanWebs), Guinea-Bissau and the Middle East (TransBasin), carrying out fieldwork in remote locations such as the Selvagens Islands (Madeira) and Santa Luzia (Cape Verde). At the same time, she has developed skills in environmental education and awareness-raising (EVOA guide; scientific dissemination).

At SPEA she works on the impact of power lines on birds, as part of the LIFE PowerLines4Birds, LIFE Safelines4Birds, Avifauna X and LIFE Lx-Aquila projects.
