Rita Alcazar

Rita Alcazar

Bachelor degree in Biology and Master in Spatial Planning and Environmental Management.

Over 23 years' experience in conservation biology.

Responsible for coordinating LPN's work in Castro Verde, coordinating and participating in various national and international biodiversity conservation projects (e.g. LIFE Peneireiro-das-torres, LIFE Estepárias, LIFE Charcos; LIFE Saramugo; LIFE Imperial).

LPN representative in supporting the local structure for implementing agri-environmental measures to protect steppe birds. Involved in the application to designate Castro Verde as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (2017), representing the LPN on the Biosphere Reserve Management Council.

In 2009 she began working on the impact of power lines on bird conservation.

Ana Luísa Barros

PhD in Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution.

With experience in biodiversity monitoring and statistical analysis to assess the response of terrestrial fauna to human disturbance.

Coordinator of the LIFE PowerLines4Birds project.

Sofia Moinhos

Master in Conservation Biology

Sofia wrote her master's thesis on the influence of landscape factors on the occupation of shelter boxes for bats in vineyards in the Alentejo region.

Sofia has experience in conservation and environmental education, having worked as a volunteer on a sea turtle conservation project in Mexico. She was a Guardian in the HortaFCUL Permaculture project and a monitor in the LPN's Literacy for the Forest Project.

Currently she's a technician on the LIFE PowerLines4Birds project at LPN.

Edgar Gomes

bachelor degree in Biology.

With more than 10 years experience in biodiversity monitoring and in the implementation of biodiversity conservation actions.

Edgar was an environmental field technician in several LIFE projects: LIFE Estepárias, LIFE Charcos, LIFE Saramugo, LIFE Imperial and other projects, notably in mortality monitoring in power lines (Avifauna protocol).

Natasha Silva

Master in Ecology Environment and Territory

More than 10 years' experience in monitoring biodiversity and implementing biodiversity conservation actions.

She was involved as an environmental field technician in the LIFE Saramugo project.

Currently she works on the LIFE Powerlines4Birds project and is an environmental education technician for LPN.

Maria Lopes

Bachelor degree in Private and Public Law.

Maria has been responsible for the administrative and finance management of LPN since 2001. She has also been responsible for the administrative and finance control of several LIFE projects (LIFE Peneireiro-das-Torres, LIFE Estepárias, LIFE Iberian Lynx Habitat Recovery at Moura/Barrancos site, LIFE EXTENSITY, LIFE Charcos, LIFE Saramugo and LIFE Imperial) and other projects funded by the European Union (ERASMUS+; POCTEP).
