The project is implemented in 23 Natura 2000 Special Protection Areas (SPA), in Portugal (14) and Spain (9). In Portugal there are 2700 km of low and medium voltage power lines in these SPAs and adjacent areas, which constitutes a high risk of mortality by collision and electrocution for the target species.
